Brenton is a fourth-generation farmer on the property ‘Wyndhurst’ 30 kms North West of Orroroo in the lower Flinders Ranges SA. After studying Agricultural Science and Soil Science at Urrbrae in Adelaide Brenton returned to the family farm. Further study qualified him as a Professional Woolclasser which enabled employment on many properties throughout SA.
Brenton is married to Robyn with 5 children and 8 grandchildren.
In 1980 Brenton took over management of Wyndhurst, expanding the property and pursuing his interest in soil remediation on the farm thus improving productivity. He was appointed to the SA Soil Conservation Board in 1990 and served 3 years as Chairman from 1992-1995. He enjoyed imparting his knowledge of soil health and conservation during this time while actively farming on a large scale.
With a vision from the Lord Brenton began the business Soil Management Systems specialising in soil and plant nutrition advise to farmers. This business has since spread Australia wide into all forms of agriculture. He is still currently Managing Director of this business employing several people. He is also a Director and on the Board of Australian Biofert Pty Ltd specialising in custom organic fertilisers.
